Overview

Paciolan is seeking a driven, high energy Director of College Athletics with a passion for the College Athletics industry. The role of the Director of College Athletics is to manage a territory to grow revenue, profit margin and direct all sales efforts. This is a great role for an experienced salesperson who knows how to independently work a territory to build a book of business and create long lasting relationships. Key responsibilities will include directing all pre- and post-sales activities with the goal of obtaining long-term business and increasing market share. Additionally a preferred candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding quota / financial goals and experience conducting sales presentations to Athletic Directors and Senior College Athletic Department Administrators. The client focus for this position will be working within all facets of College Athletics and the University Market. This is a high profile role within the organization, with direct access to company executives, and input on services and product development. This role reports directly to the VP of Sales.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the overall strategic planning, development, implementation, administration, and budget for the territory for College Athletics

  • Develop strategies and short and long range plans to enhance market position, territory coverage and achievement of goals
  • Lead contract renewal process and additional business opportunities with Current Clients
  • Prospect and Contact New Clients, conduct sales presentations, qualify, negotiate and close new and additional business
  • Manage complex sales cycles including RFPs, properly utilizing resources, and closing the deal at executive level
  • Exceed company established financial goals for direct and transactional revenue, profit margin, and overall growth
  • Utilize sales automation tools for accurate reporting purposes
  • Shepherd contract negotiations both internally and externally
  • Strong relationship building, regular contact with key personnel at client sites within sales territory and industry events
  • Internal liaison with key company departments including Client Partners, Marketing Services, and Product in matters relating to sales policies and practices
  • Collaborate across organization to achieve company goals
  • Live and breathe the College Athletics industry

Qualifications

 

  • BS of BA Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Experience in complex software solutions with progressive sales experience
  • Experience in working with College Athletics Departments and multiple University Departments (Procurement, Legal, IT, etc.)
  • History of successfully closing deals while building strong relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Proven track record of exhibiting excellent leadership skills is essential
  • Managerial expertise in planning, organizing, and decision-making
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish relationships at the AD level
  • Individual with well-rounded business sense
  • Travel Requirements: 30-50% travel
