Our growing sponsorship business seeks an accomplished Vice President - Texas Market Director to join our Multi-Media Rights Leadership Team.  If you’re interested in combining your passion for sports with your successful track record in sales leadership, we want to speak with you! Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing corporate marketing partnerships. You will be responsible for delivering a high volume of new business by implementing high-level corporate marketing partnerships for the university athletic program while also building and maintaining lasting relationships with our corporate partners as well as the athletic department staff.


The Vice President - Texas Market Director reports directly to a Regional Vice President of Learfield and is responsible for the planning, implementation and administration of the relationship between the universities in their market segment and the sports properties in that segment.


  • Lead the General Managers and MBDs in all top-line sales efforts, inclusive of managing performance and providing mentorship in all areas of the sales process, including a customer service approach to fulfillment to aid in client retention
  • Provide sales leadership by providing creative insight and structured guidance for sales presentations and proposals, as well as support all property staff members in sponsorship contract negotiations as needed
  • Develop and guide property sales business plan process to attain the properties’ goals
  • Participate in property staff calls and provide sales updates as requested by regional leadership
  • Focus on support for the completion of multi-property new business opportunities and/or renewals
  • Identify, research, and analyze business opportunities by outlining prospects and evaluating their position in the industry
  • Share best practices in sales process activities, renewal strategies, successful sales concepts, sponsorship category trends and account relationship management with all staff under direct responsibility
  • Execute market trips to North Texas, Stephen F Austin, SMU, Southland Conference, Texas State, Tulsa, UT-Arlington, and UT-San Antonio at least once a quarter to provide on-site coaching/training, premium inventory expansion/development, account brainstorming, sales call ride-a-longs with property sellers in an effort to support sponsorship sales activities and contract negotiations
  • Promote the utilization and assist in the access of Learfield’s resources – KORE, Digideck, graphics support, digital & social media support, research tools, and company-wide best practices


  • 10+ years of experience in corporate sponsorship sales and sales management
  • Natural ability to establish and maintain genuine, lasting relationships
  • Successful track record in selling and retaining accounts at the local, regional, and national level
  • High energy level coupled with a strong drive for results
  • Extremely motivated to succeed; strong competitive spirit
  • Able to develop and execute strategic plans in order to meet both short and long term business objectives
  • Able to effectively manage change and bring others along with you

  • Previous sports industry experience highly preferred
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
