    What you’ll do

    • Install, configure and monitor MySQL and Cassandra servers
    • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication
    • Analyze query performance and provide solutions
    • Support development and production environments
    • Review of any code that will be deployed to or access data from the Data Platform.
    • Work with DevOps to ensure our non-Production environments are refreshed and consistent with Production.
    • Define and implement backup strategies to keep us within our data retention requirements, to diagnose and resolve as needed.
    • Configure and troubleshoot existing ansible automation
    • Evaluate new DBMS and related technologies
    • Provide on-call support to support heavy usage, high traffic databases.
    • Production DBA assistance as deemed necessary, including but not limited to on-call support rotation and maintenance windows. 


    What to bring

    • 5+ years RDBMS DBA experience. At least 3 years of supporting MySQL in live and development environments. Experience with Percona XtraDB is a big plus.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Cassandra DBA in a high throughput, web-scale environment.
    • Knowledge of Cassandra best practices and data modeling.
    • Knowledge of automation and its tools like Ansible, Git, and Kubernetes.
    • Demonstrable experience in physical and logical DB design
    • Experience with managing Linux system and able to write/maintain Shell/Python scripts.
