  • Overview

    Learfield is looking for an experienced, highly collaborative senior-level Instructional Designer with excellent people and program management skills to join our team. This person will help define and execute the programs and processes that enable Learfield employees the opportunities, training and experience to expand their knowledge and improve their skills. This role is responsible for creating engaging and interactive professional and leadership development program content that enable employees across the organization to recognize their unique gifts and talents, expand their skills through continuous development and to strive for excellence in achieving organizational goals. Using a variety of learning and development solutions (i.e., eLearning courses, ILT, webinars, on-the-job training, job aids, and blended learning solutions) and adult learning theory, this role will create professional development and leadership development curricula to support our talent development processes, reinforce our cultural values and help to optimize business performance.


    • Work closely with SMEs and stakeholders to translate performance requirements and skill gaps into the specific learning objectives that must be achieved through training.
    • Apply theoretical frameworks for writing effective learning objectives.
    • Design holistic program solutions to guide development and measure the success of development initiatives.
    • Assess business constraints, audience characteristics, technical environment, budget, and other factors to determine the right media and technologies to deliver the learning (e.g., eLearning, ILT, video, microlearning, and job aids, etc.)
    • Partner with business learning and development leads to ensure that delivery requirements are incorporated in the design of ILT (face-to-face and virtual) classroom courses, as well as in the design of blended learning programs.
    • Author e-learning courses using standard templates and a variety of authoring tools.
    • Remain current with changes and developments in learning methodology/technology to continuously improve/update training programs and materials.
    • Use data from employee surveys, talent processes, focus groups, business leader interviews, etc. to ensure alignment with program learning objectives and business needs.
    • Any other duties as needed or required.


    • Bachelor's degree required
    • At least 8 years work experience in the area of instructional design with a focus on leadership development including developing interactive engaging learning solutions to impact business results
    • Experience developing interactive eLearning using Storyline2 and Articulate Studio (other authoring tools experience is a plus)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate and establish credibility with busy, non-training professionals
    • Proven project management experience and the ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects with tight deadlines
