    Tar Heel Sports Properties is Learfield’s local, dedicated entity representing the University of North Carolina.  In complete collaboration with the university, this team is committed to extending the affinity of the Tar Heel brand to businesses and corporations of all sizes looking to align with the undeniably loyal and passionate collegiate sports fan base. As exclusive multimedia rights holder for UNC, Tar Heel Sports Properties manages all aspects of the rights relationship. Providing corporate partners with both traditional and new media opportunities to bolster their own brand and garner maximum exposure through inventory such as venue signage; event sponsorships and promotion; corporate hospitality; television and digital engagement and visibility via the official athletics website; and radio game broadcasts and coaches’ shows. 


    Our growing multi-media rights business seeks an accomplished Director – Partnership Marketing to work from Chapel Hill for Tar Heel Sports Properties. You will liaise between the property and other cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our marketing solutions according to their needs.  Areas of focus will include university relations, partnership services, sales operations, integrated marketing and games/events.


    • Athletics liaison for pre-sale ideation, approval & execution plan, and post-sale implementation
    • Represent THSP in pertinent athletic department meetings
    • Collaborate with UNC Athletics on their marketing objectives for the season and use our assets to help drive messaging
    • Work to identify synergies between UNC priorities/initiatives and corporate partner objectives
    • Develop & execute annual Partnership Marketing plan
    • Oversight of creative trafficking process (internally & externally)
    • Oversee THSP inventory tracking & fulfillment process utilizing L365 software
    • Provide proof of performance updates on an on-going basis
    • Oversee execution & management of agreements with 3rd parties
    • Conceptualize, build, and deliver partner-focused new products/platforms
    • Create digital and traditional content and take-to-market plan
    • Identify and share new revenue-driving opportunities
    • Ensure alignment with corporate partner & UNC athletic priorities
    • Work collaboratively with Learfield’s Integrated marketing and Digital teams
    • Communication of the UNC athletics story & product positioning
    • Research & data analysis
    • Oversight of internal fulfillment/activation efforts for all THSP sales & programming
    • Assist with implementation of Sponsor Advisory Board
    • Oversee budget and vendor relationships for all THSP events & hospitality initiatives


    • 7-10 Years of Marketing Leadership experience
    • Experience with corporate sponsorship sales desired
    • 4-year undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent
    • Skilled in ideating and delivering client-focused solutions based on business needs
    • Account management or other relevant experience with a demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
    • Proven ability to manage and drive multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail
    • Self-starter with a resilient, positive “can-do” attitude and a team-oriented mindset
    • Proven ability to scope, resource and manage time-sensitive projects
    • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Collegiate athletics and/or advertising agency experience strongly preferred
